Andrew begins by handing an envelope to an audience member for safekeeping. He then introduces a deck of cards and asks another spectator to remove a random number of cards from the middle. Those cards are secretly counted and then returned to the deck. Next, Andrew deals through the deck face up, asking the spectator to note the card that appears at their remembered number. When the envelope is finally opened, the prediction reveals the impossible: Andrew has correctly foretold both the exact number of cards freely taken and the card that would end up at that position.
