Bob Hummer’s Mathematical 3-Card Monte gets the ultimate upgrade. In this expanded manuscript, we give you not one, but two powerful versions of Hummer's famous effect—an easy-to-perform close-up version based upon Hummer's original handling along with a little-known variation developed by Sam Schwartz that allows you to perform this self-working, mental miracle under virtually any conditions, even remotely over the phone or on a video call.
EFFECT: A spectator places three cards in a row, numbering them, 1, 2, and 3. You turn your back and the spectator freely switches pairs and calls out each exchange, until he is satisfied. When he is done, you divine the mentally selected card. With the remote version, the spectator chooses any card by placing a coin on it and then switches pairs around in the same manner. Again, he is free to do this as much as he likes. And yes, you once again divine the secretly chosen card (with the coin). With both versions at your fingertips, you'll always have the perfect handling for any venue or occasion.
