Offered is a Vintage Gilbert Mysto Magic Exhibition Set. It was copyrighted 1938 by the A. C. Gilbert Co. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. This set is incomplete, but has many of the original props. There are some extra ones too! The box measures about 20 1/2" x 13 1/4". The graphics on the box lid are fantastic! There is an early depiction of a Magician on the left of the box top who is activating his magic wand and a bunny is beneath it. The right part of the box features the devil and a bunch of demons conjuring up some magic in a cauldron. The box paper is decent, but has edge and corner wear. All the corners are split with and attempt to repair them many years ago. The contents that rea present that appear to pertain to the set are 8 metal rings, 2 wood cylinders and a cardboard one. There are 6 poker cards and three wooden red balls. There is a disappearing rabbit on a stick trick, 5 pieces of paper (Ming Toy Laundry Ticket trick) and of course, the magic wand. The other contents that don't appear to be pertinent to this set are pictured by themselves in a separate photo. "The Wonderful Secrets Of Magic" booklet is in nice condition with only moderate wear. It was copyrighted 1909 Yale University and written by Alfred C. Gilbert, M.D. A nice, early magic set to add to y our collection.
