The performer has a card freely selected and tears off one corner, which the spectator keeps. The remainder of the card is torn into four pieces. The pieces are placed into the deck, and in an instant the card is restored, perfectly matching the retained corner. Finally, the performer restores the torn corner as well, leaving a completely intact card.
