It’s always great to make your audience the centre of the magic, and in this very commercial routine, James has a spectator name a suit and subsequently removes the Ace through to 9 of that suit. A mystery card is then selected from the bulk of the deck, sight unseen, folded into quarters by the spectator, signed on the outside, paper-clipped, and sealed into an envelope. The spectator then fans the cards to James, who selects and signs a card before placing it back into the fan still held by the spectator. The spectator, without interference from James, makes the signed card vanish from his packet, and when the envelope is opened, the signed card is found to be the one folded and paper-clipped at the beginning of the routine.
